Amarillo, Texas – Jimmie D. Manning, 63, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at his home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1946, to Efton B. and Lavita M. Peters Manning in Liberal.
He married Virginia Piehler March 16, 1966, in Liberal.
He then married Barbara A. Stephens March 6, 1976, in Tyrone, Okla.
He attended high school in Dodge City and was a fireman for the Liberal Fire Department for 24 years, retiring in 2004.
He was a member of the Faith Tabernacle of Liberal.
He enjoyed fishing and being with family.
He is survived by three sons, Jimmie Manning, Cincinnati, Shawn Manning and companion, Stacey Wacker, Lees Summit, Mo., and Mikel Manning, Wichita; three daughters, Jenny Turner and husband, Tony, Amarillo, Texas, Barbara De La Cruz and husband, Richard, Amarillo, and Kriston Manning and companion, Bladimir Alvarado, Liberal; four brothers, Bill Manning and wife, Connie, Dodge City, Danny Manning and wife, Patty, Laverne, Okla., Charles Manning, Nashville, Tenn., Gary Manning, Indianapolis; one sister, Glenda Miller, Liberal; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara Manning.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Faith Tabernacle with the Rev. Rex Petty presiding.
Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Miller Mortuary.
