ULYSSES – Herman Hinkle,  76, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.

He was born Dec. 1, 1936, to Grady T. and Dessie Evelyn (Johnson) Hinklein Crowell, Texas.

He married Joan Bridwell April 7, 1956, in Johnson. She survives.

He was a heavy equipment operator for Popejoy Construction.

He enjoyed going camping and fishing.

He is also survived by his daughters, Cindy LaFever and husband, Greg, Ulysses, and Mary Hinkle, Ulysses; step-brother, Elza Rogers, Wewoka, Okla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Danny Hinkle; brothers, A.W. Hinkle, Lawrence Hinkle and Frank Hinkle; and great-grandson, Nathaniel Hinkle.

o Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ulysses Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Harrold presiding.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS  67880.
