ULYSSES – Kenneth Martin Lozar Sr., 68, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at his home in Kirbyville, Mo.

He was born Feb. 11, 1944, to Cleo Horse and Leota (Popejoy) Lozar in Ulysses.

He married Judith Ann Downey Feb. 7, 1964, in Garden City. She survives.

He graduated from Ulysses High School.

He worked for a construction company. He also worked for a farmer.  He later worked for KDOT as a mechanic and for B & L doing small engine repair.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed golfing at Holiday Hills.

He is also survived by children, Kenneth Lozar Jr., Ulysses, and Karin Gwin, Quapaw, Okla.; sisters, Shirley Wise, Ulysses, and Cleota Burns, Garden City; five grandsons; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bill Lozar; and two sisters, Connie Lawson and Lorraine Simpson.

o Funeral service will be  at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses, with Pastor Kelly Gindlesberger presiding.

Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W Grant Ave., Ulysses.
