Obituary

MINNEOLA – Leta Mae Locke, 88, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Minneola Long Term Care.

She was born Sept. 27, 1924, to William Franklin and Lela Mae (Engel) Wright in Liberal.

She married Clinton D. Locke June 29, 1941, in Liberal. He died Oct. 18, 1978.

She was a librarian and was a member of the First Christian Church of Minneola.

Survivors include six children, Carolyn Marshall and husband, Daryl, Jolene Lankford and husband, Lanny, Jeanne Scott and husband, David, Chris Lang and husband, Ron, Monty Locke and wife, Valerie, and Pam Elsey and husband, Rod; 12 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded by her son Danny; her daughter, Bonita; three brothers, Ron, Jim and Pete; and two great-granddaughters.

o There will be a private family graveside service and burial at 11 a.m. Saturday a.m. at  Appleton Township Cemetery followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 2 p.m. at Minneola Community Church.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 today at Minnis Mortuary, Minneola.
