PLAINS – Jeanne B. Marx, 94, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013,  at Assured Assisted Living in Castle Rock, Colo.

She was born Jan. 9, 1919, to Samuel and Mary (Specht) Currier in rural Meade County.

She married W.W. (Bill) Marx in Garden City. He died in 1987.

She was a graduate of Plains High School.

She helped with farm and ranch duties and served as bookkeeper for the Haswell Garage.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed singing hymns with her sisters, travel, word  puzzles, gardening and fishing.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marlena and Chris Miller, Colorado Springs.

She was also preceded in death by her parents,  five sisters and one brother.

• Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Plains Cemetery, with the Rev. Keith Schadel presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
