The Tyrone Lady Bobcats saw their season come to an end with a 48-44 loss to the Hardesty Lady Bison in the first round of the district playoffs.
Hardesty jumped out to a 13-7 lead in the first quarter, forcing a Tyrone team that has struggled to score all season to try to play catch-up.
Tyrone gained an 11-10 advantage in the second, but still trailed 23-17 at half.
Each team scored 10 in the third, leaving the Lady Bobcats in need of at least a six-point advantage in the fourth.
Tyrone outscored Hardesty 17-15 in the fourth, but fell short of a come-from-behind win.
Tori Dumler was the Lady Bobcats top scorer with 13 points. Shelby Davis scored 11.
Tyrone’s season ends with a 7-15 record.
Balko 68, Hardesty 41
In the boys first round district game Balko used a 26-2 second quarter to blow wide open a six point game on their way to a 68-41 victory over Hardesty.
At the end of a high scoring first quarter, the Balko Bison led 24-18. But with an explosive second quarter Balko led by 30 at the break (50-20).
Balko put the game on cruise control in the second half, scoring only 18 points.
Grady Frantz led the Balko Bison with 12 points; Clay Casper and Jordan Busch each added 11. Balko faced Tyrone for the district title Saturday night at Balko.
