A Liberal woman and a Sublette man were injured in a two-car crash one minute into the new year early Friday morning.

James Cody Parr, 35, Sublette, was stopped at a red light on U.S. Highway 54 waiting to turn left onto U.S. Highway 83 when he was rear ended, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Parr’s 2009 Ford passenger car was struck by a 2003 Mitsubishi driven by Ermalinda Dolores Melton, 42, Liberal, according to the report.

Both Parr and Melton were transported to Southwest Medical Center for treatment.
