KISMET – Donald Lee “Don” Kane, 77, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Kansas Medical Center in Andover.
He was born Sept. 9, 1932, to Ezrum Jack and Beulah Pearl (Semler) Kane in Seward County.
He married Reta Jane Prater in 1952.
He then married Patty Peachey Sept. 29, 1972, in Hugoton. She survives.
He is a 1951 graduate of Kismet High School.
He was a farmer and rancher.
He was a member of the Kismet United Methodist Church.
He helped establish the Seward County Rural Fire Dept. in 1960.
Other survivors include one son, Scott Kane and wife, Laura, Liberal, seven daughters, Salley Zirger Liberal, Sara Willimon and husband, Allan, Kismet, Suzan Nelson and husband, Dannie, Kismet, Stephanie Kane, Wichita, Sandra Bruner and husband, Mike, Hooker, Okla., Cindy Cram and husband, Darin, Parkville, Mo., and Charla Roehr, Liberal; 20 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert Kane, and one sister, Virginia Kane.
o Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel
Cremation has taken place.
