Obituary

James Elias Nordyke, 76, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.

He was born Aug. 6, 1936, to Wayne Charles Nordyke and Doris Marie (Ridpath) Nordyke Betsworth in Hugoton.

He married Shirley Ann Perry June 4, 1955, in Hugoton.

He then married Ginger Honn March 29, 1986, in Tulsa. She survives.

He served in the Navy from 1955 to 1961. He worked as a cart mechanic at Meadowbrook Country Club in Tulsa.  Previously he worked in the car business for more than 16 years at Don Thornton Ford as a service advisor and at Don Trentham Ford in Hugoton. Prior to that, he owned Jim’s Standard Service Station in Hugoton.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Hugoton and was a member of the East Tulsa Christian Church.

He was a member of the Hugoton Masonic Lodge 406 since 1969.

He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and woodworking.

Other survivors include sons Scott (Michelle) Nordyke and Derrick W. Nordyke; daughter, Malissa (Tom) Hicks; stepchildren, Kathy, Kristi, Billy, Kerri; brothers, Clinton D. (Dixie) Nordyke and Billy E. Nordyke; grandchildren, Nathan, Chelsea, Nicole, Ceara, Trista and Dylan; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Alexa, Grant, Garrison and Roslynn Elizabeth;  step-grandchildren, Blane, Brett, Stephanie, Christopher, Cory, Collin, Adam, Sarah, Josie and Sedona; and one step-great-grandchild, Tristan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Phyllis Jean Duncan.

• Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church, Hugoton, with Pastor Randy Nash presiding.

Burial will be at the Hugoton Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. t8 p.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church in Hugoton.
