ULYSSES – Mary Jane Young, 75, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.
She was born Feb. 7, 1938, to Clyde E. and Martha R. (Hainer) Nodine in rural Prowers County, Colo.
She married Leon Young Aug. 25, 1957, in Pawnee Rock. He survives.
She graduated from Grant County Rural High School.
In 1955, she began working at Grant County Bank and retired in 1988 as a loan assistant.
She was a member of the Shelton Memorial Christian Church and was a Paul Harris Fellow.
She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, doing embroidery work and making doilies for the church bazaar. She followed the sports and activities of her children and grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sons, Kevin Young, St. Cloud, Minn., Todd Young, Independence, Kan.; daughter, Lisa Dasenbrock and husband, Larry, Lakin; brother, Loren Nodine, Denver; and three grandchildren, Kyle Dasenbrock, Yokohama, Japan, Kevin Dasenbrock, Lakin, and Mackenzie Young, St. Cloud.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Joyce Monson.
o Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses, with Pastor Phillip Hayes presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
