Billie Mae (Henage) Dreher, 74, went to see her Lord and Savior on Feb. 28, 2013.  Billie was born March 16, 1938 to George and Gladys (Ormiston) Henage in Liberal, KS. She married Walter Paul Dreher on May 14, 1955 in Clayton, NM.

Billie grew up in Liberal, the 4th of 9 children. She enjoyed working at the soda fountain in Black’s Pharmacy.  Walt worked in the oil fields and they lived in Meade, Plainville, Hays, and Oberlin, moving to Pratt in 1963.  Billie worked at numerous jobs in Pratt taking in ironing, cleaning at the Catalina Motel, Deluxe Cleaners, candling eggs in a produce house, Cross Manufacturing and her favorite job as Manager of Peter Pan Ice Cream. She thought of her staff at Peter Pan as her second set of children which included Candy Annette, Shawna Lewis, Deb Fisher, Kelly Rea, and Nancy Angood.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Walter Dreher, Pratt; children, G. Denise (Bryan) Phipps, Topeka, KS., Lena (Warren) Dreher-Heflin, Haysville KS., and Paul Dreher, Pratt, KS; three sisters, Joan Collins, Liberal, KS., Cinda Sisneros, Amarillo, TX., and Terri Lexann Fox, Newcastle, OK; two brothers, Melvin Henage, Mobile, AL. and James Henage, Hattiesburg, MS., five grandchildren, Michele (Ian) Garner, Timothy (Bri) Heflin, Amy (Ryan) McMurphy, Conner Dreher, and Libby Heflin; three great-grandchildren Cooper, Carson and Maddox Garner; and six beloved children Spencer and Jake Siroky, Morgan Shore, Brynn and Garrett Jellison and Jaila Renner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Shirley Caldwell and Gaye Livingood-Caldwell; brother Eldee Henage and one grandchild Bryson Metzinger.

Billie willed her body to KU Med and the Kansas Eye Bank for medical research.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent in memory of Billie Dreher to Patient Care, c/o KU Medical Center, Mailstop 5010, 2330 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Westwood, KS, 66205.

• A celebration of life will be held from 11:00-1:00 p.m., March 9 at the Senior Center, 619 North Main, in Pratt.
