Lori Geis, 41, died Monday, March 11, 2013 in Okeene, Okla.
She was born Aug. 1, 1971 to Bill and Betty Geis in Okeene.
She graduated from Okeene High School in 1989 before continuing her education at Oklahoma City University, where she completed her Bachelor of Music Performance in 1993 and her Masters in Music Performance in 1996.
She was offered the vocal music position at Seward County Community College where she spend 13 years with choirs. She traveled with her choir groups for performances at Carnegie Hall in New York City, to Salt Lake City and the Mormon Tabernacle and to Victoria Island, British Columbia. Her Sound Express Show Choir traveled to Branson, Mo. for performances. She moved back to Oklahoma to pursue her doctorate and was hired at Marlow Public Schools to teach high school and junior high music programs.
She was also choir director at the First Christian Church in Liberal and spent much of her free time teaching private voice lessons.
She is survived by her mother; one brother, Lynn E. Geis; one uncle, Weldon Geis; one aunt, Barbara Geis; two cousins, Keenan Geis and James Fielder; and other relatives and friends.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Okeene United Methodist Church.
