SATANTA – Pedro Silva Jr., 74, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
He was born Feb. 18, 1935, to Pedro Sr. and Hermenia (Garcia) Silva in La Casita, Texas.
He married Josefa “Jo” Maturey Aug. 16, 1962, in Satanta. She survives.
He was an electrician for National Beef Packing in Liberal for 14 years.
He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Satanta.
He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Other survivors include one son, Pete Silva and wife, Loree, Leoti; two daughters, Stephanie Seaton and husband, Shane, Big Spring, Texas, and Darci Clark, Garden City; four brothers, Lupe Silva of California, Matteo Silva, La Casita, Joe Silva, Brownfield, Texas, and Domingo Silva, Garciasville, Texas; two sisters, Emma Chappa, La Casita, and Juana, Rio Grande, Texas; nine grandchildren, Cody Dehart, Nicholas Dehart, Lindsay Torres, Eden Silva, Taylor Seaton, Morgan Seaton, Peyton Seaton, Hunter Clark and Landon Clark; two great-grandchildren, Lennox Torres and Jaxon James Torres; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Lisa Jo Silva and Sara Marie Silva, four brothers and one sister.
oFuneral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Satanta with Father Jim Dieker presiding.
Burial will be at the Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Haskell County Funeral Home.
