GREAT BEND – Kenneth D. “Ken” Williams, 74, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Great Bend Regional Hospital.

He was born Feb. 14, 139, to Myrl and Ruth (Onions) Williams in Stephenville, Texas.

He married Nancy Giebler Aug. 15, 1959, in Hays. She survives.

He served as the CFO for Central Kansas Medical Center for 20 years, retiring in 1988. He operated Abacus Accounting, serving as the CFO interim and consultant for respective hospitals in Pratt, Abilene, McPherson and Plainville. He later served as the CFO for Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington for 10 years.

He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Great Bend, where he served as church treasurer.

He had served as president of State and Regional Hospital Finance Management Organization.

He enjoyed ARRL Ham Radio operation, computers and writing software programs for hospital management.

Other survivors include two sons, Kurt Williams and wife, Kim, Hoisington, and Karl Williams and wife, Elaina, Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter, Julie Foster and husband, Scott, Great Bend; and five grandchildren, Garrett Foster, Holly Foster, Bailey Foster, Trevor Williams and Jack Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Patrick Brown.

• Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in Great Bend with the Rev. Dr. Scott Solether presiding.

Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
