The Hooker Bulldogs outscored their opponents 34-1 in three games to win the district tournament and move on to the regional round.
Weather moved the tournament from Thursday to Saturday and a 10 a.m. start. The morning start did not hurt the Bulldogs who defeated the Beaver Dusters 16-1 in the opening game.
Hunter Brown had a single and a triple, and Chad Kennedy pitched the entire-game win.
In Game 2 Beaver got back on the winning side with a 14-12 win over Buffalo. Chris Cates was 3-4 with 2 RBI and Hadley Skaggs was 2-4 with an RBI to lead the Dusters.
Game three was an 8-0 shutout by the Hooker Bulldogs that eliminated the Buffalo Bison.
Taylor McBee singled and doubles at the plate, and got the complete game win on the mound as well.
In Game 4, Hooker capped the tournament with an 11-0 win over the Beaver Dusters to claim the district title.
Jordan McFarland threw a complete-game no-hitter.
“We had struggled at times when we would get the lead this season,” Bulldogs coach Chad Hussey. “We didn’t do that today. We didn’t let certain at bats bother us and carry over into a bad play in the field. The guys did a great job and hopefully we can carry it on to regionals.
Hooker (11-9) will play in a regional tournament this week, but at this time the location and opponents were not known.
