PLAINS – June I. Bolan, 86, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at her rural Plains residence.

She was born Feb. 7, 1927, to Carl and Clara (Logan) Hollopeter in rural Iuka.

She married Charles Vickers Schelhouse March 30, 1947, in Canon City, Colo. He died in 1978.

She then married William C. “Bill” Bolan Jr. July 18, 1999, in Estancia, N.M. He survives.

As a young girl she attended school in Satanta, Canon City and Plains.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Plains United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Meade County Council on Aging and the Gideon’s Auxiliary.

She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery work, sewing, quilting, baking, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Other survivors include two sons, Carl Schelhouse, Las Vegas, and                                                             Charles Schelhouse, Carthage, Texas; four daughters, Charlene Golden of New Mexico, Barbara Beach, Salina, Elaine Bell, Las Vegas, and Debbie Cleveland, Carthage; one stepson, Dino Bolan, Osceola, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Tio Bolan; three brothers; and three sisters.

• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Plains Untied Methodist Church, with the Rev. Keith Schadel presiding.

Burial will follow at the Plains Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.

Memorials are suggested to the Plains United Methodist Women or the Liberal Gideon’s Auxiliary in care of the funeral home.
