HUGOTON – Alfred Eric Gustafson, 76, died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at his residence at Hugoton.
He was born Sept. 6, 1936, to John Henry and Ethel Mae (Ford) Gustafson in Palco.
He married Freda Ausbun April 22, 1957, in Hugoton. She survives.
He was a teacher, principal and farmer in Stevens County.
He was a member of First Church of God, Hugoton.
Other survivors two sons, David Gustafson and wife, Toya, Hugoton, and Steve Gustafson and wife, Brandy, Panhandle, Texas; three daughters, Debra Wilson and husband, Phil, Washington, Kan., Resi Valek and husband, Bill, Agenda, and Lisa Whitham and husband, Matt, Moscow; one sister, Margaret Ninemire, LaJunta, Colo.; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert Gustafson; and grandson, Jacob Valek.
• Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Church of God, Hugoton, with Pastor Richard Martin and Pastor Gary Ausbun presiding and burial at Hugoton Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Paul’s Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at First Church of God, Hugoton.
