Wilbur Dean Decker, 78, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at Baptist St. Anthony Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
He was born Sept. 27, 1934, to Frank Leslie and Edna Bessie Willis Decker near Hooker, Okla.
He married Ida Mae Zordel June 4, 1954, at the Church of Christ in Ransom. She survives.
He attended school at Hooker Public Schools.
He then began work for the Fischer Brothers, farming and working as their mechanic. For several years, he worked for S&S Irrigation in Turpin, Okla., before returning to farm his land, retiring the first of January 2013.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in Hooker.
He was a member of the NRA-Golden Eagle.
He enjoyed owning and shooting and experimenting with guns and repairing cars and equipment as well as irrigation engines.
Other survivors include three daughters, Janice Louise McCann and husband, Daniel, Hooker, Sharon Kay Frittz Elk City, Okla., and Shirley Ann Dennis and husband, William, Hartman, Colo.; sister, Imogene Perry, Platt City, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Janie, Kelly, Melissa, Kevin, Carrie, Bobbie, James, Daniel Jr., Andrea and Lori; 15 great-grandchildren; and son-in- law, Donnie Knier, Hugoton.
He was preceded him in deathby his parents, his daughter, Naomi Knier, his brother, Marvin Decker, his great-granddaughter, Kara Rundles, and his brother-in-law, Herbie Perry.
• Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hooker Church of Christ with Matt Richardson presiding.
Burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Hooker Ambulance Association or the Hooker Cemetery Fund and may be left at the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.
