ELKHART – Barbara Ilene Oehme 82, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.

She was born June 26, 1930, to John P. and L. Fern (Dennis) Biddle in Hutchinson.

She married Neil A. Oehme May 27, 1950, in Pittsburg, Kan. He died April 27, 2007.

She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1948 and received her bachelor of arts degree in education from Panhandle State University in 1985.

She was a teacher and had taught at various schools.

She was active in the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts for many years.

She was a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Liberal and attended Christ Lutheran Church in Elkhart.

Survivors include one son, Neil A. Oehme Jr. and wife, Cathy, Liberal; two daughters, Phyllis Burdge and Karen Benson and husband, Clifford, Goodwell, Okla.; one brother,  John C. Biddle, Marshfield, Mo.; one sister, LaVon Johnston, Shawnee; seven grandchildren, Sandee Crabtree and husband, Jared, Frisco, Texas, Brian Oehme and wife, Janice of South Korea, Kevin Oehme and wife, Nicole, Manhattan, Rebecca Stealer and husband, Mike, Salina, Okla., Christopher Benson and wife, Melanie, Weatherford, Okla., Rob Benson Overland Park, and Kristina Benson, Cherokee, Okla.; and eight great-grandchildren,  Braxton Pond, Salina, Okla., Drake Stealer, Salina, Okla., Carter and Alexis Oehme, Manhattan, Lauren, Colton and Cooper Crabtree, Frisco, and Zian Oehme of South Korea.

• Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Christopher Fincher and the Rev. Andrew Wehling presiding.

Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery.

There will be no visitation time as cremation has taken place.
