Buffalo Dunes proved to be a tough course for local golfers at the High Plains League Tournament.

In the team standings it was Stanton County edging out Cimarron 354-355.

But local teams Elkhart (88 over par), Meade (89 over par) and Southwestern Heights (258 over par) struggled, finishing fifth, sixth, and eighth in the team standings.

In the individual championship it was Wyatt Burnett of Lakin edging out Mitch Chalkey 81-82.

Austin Jansonlus of Meade finished sixth with an 85. Hunter Burnett (85) and Braden Harbour (89) finished ninth and tenth.

Heights did not have an individual golfer in the top 30.

Monday Meade, Elkhart, and Sublette will travel to Prairie Pines in Johnson for their 2A Regional Tournament. Heights will head to Cimarron for 3A.
