Boys tennis players from Southwestern Heights and Meade competed at the 1-2-3A State Tennis Tournament at Hillsboro Friday.

The Southwestern Heights doubles team of Richard Navarette and Ashton Lee won their first match 2-6. 6-3 (7), but lost their second round matchup 6-1, 6-1, and were eliminated in the next 9-7.

Alberto Ponce and Austin Metcalf of Heights lost their first round matchup 6-1, 6-0, and were eliminated in the next round, 9-1.

Dalton Weins and Micah Harden of Meade were one of the top seeds heading into the tournament, but suffered a first-round lost 6-2, 6-0. The duo won their next match 9-3, but lost the following 9-2.

Ryan Friesen of Meade was the lone singles participant from the area. Friesen lost his first round match 6-2, 6-2 and was eliminated 9-3 in the next matchup.
