ULYSSES – David Everett Meyer, 69, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at his home in rural Grant County.

He was born Dec. 6, 1943, to Herman Everett and Arlene (Smith) Meyer in Garden City.

He married Carolyn Oldham in January 1968 in Ulysses. She survives.

He graduated from Grant County Rural High School in 1962.

He farmed and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is also survived by his sons, Mike Meyer and wife, Stacy, Ulysses, Mark Meyer and wife, Elizabeth, Bennett, Colo.; one brother, Phillip Meyer and wife, Ann, Wasilla, Alaska; and four grandchildren, Katelynne, Cori, Cole and Zachary.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

• Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Ulysses Cemetery  with Pastor Kris Humphrey presiding.

Memorials are suggested to the Oasis Church or Grant County Scholarship Foundation in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS  67880.
