The 14-year-old Cimarron River Rattlers traveled to Marion this past weekend to compete in the first tournament of the year.
The Rattlers started the tourney with a victory over Hutchinson, 16-5.
Javier Neave earned the win on the mound for the Rattlers.
In Game 2, the Rattlers defeated the host Cottonwood Valley, 10-0 in four innings.
Cole Evans earned the in the second game with a no hitter.
In Game 3, the Rattlers earned another win, defeating the Wichita Rangers 5-2 in six innings.
Trey Stout earned the win, and Deladrius Green came in relief to get the save.
Cimarron River’s lone loss came to Paola in a 3-2 game that came down to a walk-off single in the bottom of the last inning.
Kaiden Bigham took the loss despite only giving up three runs. Neave had a strong game.
“We played great ball all weekend,” Brent Evans said. “Especially for the first tournament of the year. We had less than five errors in four games. We hit the ball well, also.”
