Mary Isabel Powell, 84, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal.
She was born Sept. 1, 1924, to Joe C. and Juanita Gonzales Garcia in Cuervo, N.M.
She married Alonzo Powell April 28, 1943, in Hugoton. He preceded her in death.
She attended school in Hooker, Okla.
She worked at a Guymon restaurant.
She enjoyed puzzles, reading, especially Danielle Steel, TV and gardening.
Survivors include three daughters, Juanita S. Graham and husband, Barry, Liberal, Earlene Powell, Wichita, and Jenny Trisler and husband, Al, Hooker; three grandchildren, Lona Marie Idleman and husband, Stephen, Kenneth Trisler II, and Tasha Friesen and her husband, Jeremy; one great-grandson, Stephen Michael Idleman; one sister, Lee Swindell, Lubbock, Texas; one niece, Susan Lothman; and two nephews and a niece that she took care of when they were little at the farm, Patrick Swindell, Terry Reynolds and Ramona Swindell.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Dana Joseph Powell, one daughter, Carol Ann Powell, three brothers, Joe, Victor and John, two sisters, Virginia and Gloria, and four infant siblings.
o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church in Hooker with the Rev. Brian Jones and the Rev. Deanna Fluck presiding.
Burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Hooker Ambulance Association, the Hooker Cemetery Fund or St. Catherine Hospice and will be accepted at the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.
