HUGOTON – Dorothy E. Thomas, 82, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton.
She was born March 13, 1931, to Albert and Doii (Morris) Lackey in Osborne.
She married Paul L. Thomas June 5, 1949 in Saffordville. He died May 17, 1984.
She attended Osborne schools through the 8th grade. She graduated from high school in Saffordville.
She was a homemaker and a school librarian and printer for USD No. 210.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Hugoton, Eastern Star Ulysses Chapter No. 471 and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.
Survivors include five sons, John Thomas, Port Arthur, Texas, Clinton Thomas and wife, Kris, Salina, Alan Thomas and wife, Rhonda, Hugoton, Stephen Thomas and wife, Vicky, Wellington, and Gary Thomas, Hugoton; brother, Ronald Lackey; sister, Wilma Lind, Kansas City, Kan.; six grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, Jessica Vasquez, Savannah Thomas, Collin Thomas, Cady Thomas and Caleb Murray; and six great-grandchildren, Jamie Porter, Jordan Porter, Johna Swift-Thomas, Jessie Stephenson, Jeffery Vasquez and Julianna Vasquez.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth Lackey and Leonard Lackey; sisters, Leslie Swift, Twila Nelson and Clara Schaefer; and great-grandchild, Jacqueline Vasquez.
• A family memorial service and burial will be at a later date at the Hugoton Cemetery.
