ULYSSES – Charles V. (Bo) Crocker, 99, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in Ulysses.

He was born May 11, 1914, to Benjamin H. and Ivy Mae (Falkner) Crocker in Ford.

He married Ethelynne “Etch” Adair July 4, 1937, in Ulysses. She died in 1980.

He then married Hazel Merritt in 1982. She died in 2007.

He graduated from Tribune High School in 1933 and attended Fort Hays State University and Kansas University.

In October 1936, he began operating a movie theatre in Ulysses. Later, the couple opened the drive-in theater on the east side of town.  They sold the theatre to Richard and Norma Dudley in 1972.  Bo married Hazel Merritt in 1982.

He was a member of Ulysses Rotary, Ulysses Masonic Lodge No. 435 for 70 years, Shelton Memorial Christian Church and past president of Grant County Chamber of Commerce.

He enjoyed golfing and fishing.

He is survived by his step-children, Kay Whaley and husband, Delbert, Ulysses, Sue Windsperger and husband, Kenneth, Isle, Minn., Tom Merritt and wife, Sharon,  Gunnison, Colo., and Ted Merritt and wife, Jennie, Spring Hill; six step-grandchildren; three grandchildren, Allyson Reeb and husband, Bernie, Sabrina Jackson and husband, Steve, and  Wade Smith, all of Atlanta; eight great-grandchildren, Leah Reeb, Alec Reeb, Jonah Reeb, Chris Reeb, Haylie Smith, Savannah Smith, Micah Smith and Ayden Smith; one great-great-grandchild, Gage Reed; sisters-in-law, Doris King and Juanita Adair, both of Ulysses; and many nieces and nephews;

He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Benjamin Curtis Crocker; daughter, Delores Darlene Smith; and sisters, Helen Hurlbut, Thelma Robinson, Roberta Rouse and Virginia Binney.

• Funeral service will be at 2 p.m.  Wednesday at the Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses, with Pastor Phillip Hayes and Chris Stewart presiding.

Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

Memorials are suggested to the Grant County Senior Center in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS  67880.
