Gladys Whitmer, 94, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, in Hot Springs, Ark.

She was born June 24, 1918, to Frank and Louise Heneritta Hiebert near Elmwood, Okla.

She married Leonard A. Ellis in 1935 at the Christian Church in Garden City. He died in 1968.

She then married Carl Whitmer Dec. 29, 1972. He died in February 2005.

She attended the first three grades in the Garrett School, then completing her schooling in Garden City.

She was baptized at the Christian Church in Garden City.  She was a charter member of Pershing Avenue Christian Church.

Survivors include three children, Juanita Bradford, Malvern, Ark., Kathy Jo Norton, Albuquerque, N.M., and James Ellis, Crestview, Ky.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one grandchild.
