Entre las 4 y las 4:30 pm del viernes, un hombre joven ciclista que se dirigia hacia el este en la calle Segunda, cuando intento girar hacia el norte en Clay Avenue. Un GMC Yukon que se dirigia hacia el oeste por la calle segunda cuando el ciclista hizo la vuelta, fue golpeado por el Yukón, según el capitán de la Policia de Liberal Pat McClurg. El conductor de la bicicleta resultó herido en el accidente y transportado al Centro Médico de Liberal. El conductor de la Yukon, una mujer de 34 años de edad, no resultó herida.
