Johnson – Robert Allan Seger, 87, died Monday, June 17, 2013.
He was born on July 10, 1925 in the Englewood house southeast of Meade. 
He married Ethel Ruth Michael Seger Aug. 6, 1950. She died Jan. 12, 2013.
He graduated from Plains Highschool May 18, 1943. 
He then worked for Wolfe Motor Company in Meade and continued to until he was drafted on his 18 birthday for World War II service on Nov. 3, in Fort Leavenworth. He did basic training in Fort Sill, Okla. He was assigned to cook school in Fort Sill.
He was involved with Church of Jesus Christ in Latter-day Saints .
He served in 4-H, Extension, and many farm related and antique tractor organizations.
He enjoyed flying and restoring antique tractors, combines, and engines, and he enveloped his family in the fun and appreciation. 
He is survived by eight children and their spouses, Karen “Fred” Clyde, Hurricane, Utah; Bobbie Lewis, Cheryl “Ron” Hale and Robert “Sandi” Seger, Johnson, Kathy “Mel” Mortensen, Rexburg, Idaho; Earl “Charla” Seger, Merl “Leasa” Seger, Ulysses; and Verl “Lori” Seger, Richmond, Texas; one sister, Betty Baskin, Liberal; and 45 grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by parents, Allan Edward Seger and Rhoda Basinger Seger; his son, Mark Allan Seger; one brother, Ralph Gordon Seger; three grandchildren; and two great-grand children.
• Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ulysses.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery with military rites conducted by Dexter D. Harbour American Legion Post No. 79.
Memorials are suggested to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian Aid in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
