Former Liberal Redskin standout Oscar Rodriguez will be hosting the “Coaches Against Cancer Free Football Camp” at Redskin Field July 12 and 13.

The purpose of the camp is for Rodriguez to “give back to the community that has given me so much,” he said in a release. 

The camp is open to all students who will be seventh graders through seniors this coming season.

Rodriguez will be joined by former Redskins and other college coaches. Some of those coaches include Gary Cornelsen, Marcus James, Eric Armstrong, Kevin Armstrong as well as Auburn assistant coach Eric Munoz and many more.

The camp is used to help raise funds to defeat cancer, and donations are welcome.

There is no cost to the attendees, and pre-registration includes a free T-shirt.

Anticipating 20 visiting coaches, local citizens will make a silent bid of a minimum of $100.  The highest bidder gets first pick of coach to be a partner in the tournament.

$10,000 Hole-In-One prize on holes 10 and 17. Multiple prizes for participants.

The tournament will feature a four-man scramble format.

Local four-man teams are encouraged to participate and the netry fee is $200.

Tournament will take place July 11 at Willow Tree Golf Course in Liberal with a split tee-off beginning at 1 p.m.
