In a rare non-conference mid-January home game, No. 18 Seward dismantled Raleigh’s Finest, 101-51 at the Green House Wednesday.

The key number for the Saints was 17.

Marcus James, Latiq Agard, Tony Smith and Marky Nolen each scored 17 points against the outclassed Finest from Raleigh.

Jon Tassin added 14.

James had a double double, added 13 rebounds to his 17 points.

Seward’s defense shut down Raleigh’s Finest, holding the visitors to 16 points in the first half and 20 percent shooting from the field.

With a 23-point lead at half, Seward might have let up in the second, but they didn’t.

The Saints put 62 points on the board in the last 20 minutes of the beating.

The Saints forced 21 turnovers and held Raleigh’s Finest to 27 percent shooting for the game.

The Saints will travel to Dodge City Sunday to face the Conquistadors in Jayhawk West Conference action.
