The octagon sits inside the Liberal National Guard Armory Thursday afternoon after being installed for Saturday’s Summer Heat Revolution Cage Warrior Challenge event. David “Caveman” Rickels will be on hand to watch the action and sign autographs for fans while amateur and professional MMA fighters look to advance their fighting careers inside the octagon. Cage fighting has become a national craze with several sports networks broadcasting live events due to the expanding fan base. Rickels will fight for the Bellator World Championship in Albuquerque July 31, and it will be televised on Spike TV. FOX also features UFC cage matches on a regular basis. Most of those fighters started in matches similar to those that will take place in Liberal Saturday. Ticket are available at Rine’s American Freestyle Karate for $20, or tickets can be purchased for $25 at the door. L&T photo/Earl Watt
