The 4-H Shooting Sports team, the Seward County Sharp Shooters, pose Sunday after practicing trap shooting at the Liberal Gun Club wearing their new team caps that were made possible by a generous donation from Poor Boy’s Instrument. The trap team also received a donation of two new Remington 20-gauge youth model shotguns from Billy’s Blue Duck BBQ. The trap team is just one of several teams available in 4-H shooting sports. The archery team will start classes July 15 and is already full. The photo consists of: Front row, Brandon Yorio, Brayden Farrow, Vivian Marcellus and A.J. Gomez. Middle row, Ethan Frerichs, Jacob Ricks and Luis Mijares. Back row, Trenton Long, Shooting sports instructor Greg Standard, Eric Gomez and shooting sports coordinator Larry Phillips. The team will be hosting a state qualifying shoot Sunday and its first ever benefit shoot on July 21 to raise money for needed equipment. Other trap team members not in photo include Sarah and Evan Bayouth, Blake Chaloupek and Dylan Arnold. L&T photo by Chris Standard
