Daily Leader staff report

Liberal coach Shane Stout knew his Lady Redskins would have to play their best game of the season to compete against Bishop Carroll Friday in Colby.

Unfortunately, they didn’t.

Carroll jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter, and the Lady Redskins continued to chase the Lady Golden Eagles the rest of the night in a 60-23 loss.

The No. 6 Lady Redskins relied on sophomore Justice Norah, but the taller Carroll girls caused trouble in the lane, holding Norah to 13 points, one of her lowest point totals of the season.

Norah snagged nine rebounds in the loss.

Only three Lady Redskins scored in the game that was billed as one of the best mid-season match-ups between two of the better teams in Class 5A.

The Lady Redskins faced Goodland for third place Saturday.
