The 11-year-old Rattlers show their banner at a Texas Rangers game last week after traveling to Dallas to compete in the USSSA World Series. The team is made up of Braxton Hyde, Brody Sumner, Syris Dunlap, Lee Hatcher, Hunter Hatcher, James Armstrong, Aiden Pittman, Hunter Carson, Evan Bayouth, Ulises Rivera and Ericson Vasquez. The team went 1-7 but lost six games by one run. “Record does not show it but these boys played with the best teams in the state of Kansas as well as from Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas,” coach Brandon Hyde said. “The kids battled every game, and we accomplished what we set out to do — build character, gain mental toughness, learn to compete against the best, and have fun.”
