CIMARRON – Ernie L. Ratzlaff, 70, died Aug. 10, 2013, at his home in Cimarron.
He was born Aug. 1, 1943, to John J. and Martha Smith Ratzlaff  in Cimarron.
He married Connie Smith June 13, 1965, in Okeene, Okla. 
He attended Cimarron schools and graduated in 1962.
He worked for Weins Oil Co.  He worked for Koehn Ford Co. in Cimarron. He was in the hay, grain and cattle hauling business in Satanta and Turpin, Okla. feed yards. He was in Land Leveling with his brother, Duane. They did the ground work for Beefland Feeders at Pierceville. In 1986 he went to work for Carl Leatherwood and was at Leatherwood Inc. for 27 years until health issues forced him into retirement April of 2013.
Survivors include his wife, Connie of the home; a son, Robert (Bobby) and wife, Fiona, Taos, N.M.; a grandson, Ryan and Fiancé, Bree, Tyrone, Okla.; three brothers, Ken and wife, Pat, Buhl, Idaho, Ronnie, Cimarron, and Duane and wife, Velda, Cimarron; two granddaughters, Megan and husband, Thad Mitchell, Gillette, Wyoming, Aris Ratzlaff, Taos, N.M.; a great-grandson, Bradley; four great-granddaughters, Morgan, Audriana, Makenna and Jennessa; mother and father-in-law, Harold and Mae Smith, Okeene, Okla.; and many other family members of whom he loved.
He was preceded in death by his  parents, John and Martha; son, Brad; brother, Jimmy; sister, Albina; and grandson, Cody.
• Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Cimarron, with Dallas Koehn, Keith Ensz, and Rev. Richard Diemund presiding. 
Friends may call from noon until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Cimarron.
Memorials are suggested to the Church of God in Christ Mennonite or First Baptist Church Building Fund, both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 446 Cimarron, KS 67835.
