Freddie Lee McBee, 62, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at his home in Felt, Okla.
He was born Sept. 14, 1950, to Robert and Sarah (Zeek) McBee, in Beaver, Okla.
He graduated school in Hooker, Okla. in 1968.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era from 1968 to 1972. After his service in the U.S. Army, he worked in the oil fields in Western Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas. He later worked as a lineman for several electric companies for many years. He retired in 2007 due to health issues.
He was a member of the Baptist Church in Hooker, Okla.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing and gardening. He was an avid sports fan.
He was a story teller. He and Beri worked hard every year in the garden and shared the bountiful rewards with others.
He is survived by his companion, Beri Campbell, Felt, Okla.; his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Shantel McBee, Amarillo, Texas.; his daughter and son-in-law, Shauney and Gilbert Martinez, Hooker, Okla.; one brother, Bob McBee, Alvardo, Texas; two sisters, Sally and Larry Hoeme, Fort Cobb, Okla., Rena McBee, Texhoma, Okla; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert McBee and Sarah Scoggins, stepmother, Hazel McBee and stepfather, Jesse Scoggins.
• Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hooker Cemetery with Chris Hedges of the First Christian Church in Texhoma, Okla. presiding.
