Obituary

MINNEOLA – Bruce L. Tomlinson, 71, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at the Minneola District Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 23, 1941, to Johnie O. and May (Churchill) Tomlinson,  at Chanute, Kan.
He married Linda Kane Sept. 24, 1966, at Hershey, Pa. She survives.
He graduated from Moran Rural High School in 1959. He then attended Kansas State University  and receivied his degree in Animal Husbandry in 1963.
He worked as Assistant Manager for the Meade County Feedyard.  in 1965. In 1986, he became the Owner and Manager for Clark County Feedyard.
He was a lifetime member of the Kansas Quarter Horse Association, former member of the Lions Club, and a member of the Meade and Clark County 4-H, recieving the Outstanding Clark County 4-H Supporter Award, was a non-pro in the National Snaffle Bit Association, Sigma Phi Epsilon and a member of the national judging team while in college. 
He showed horses in western pleasure, roping with his family, bowling and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by one daughter,                                                Tina Esfeld and husband, T.R., Great Bend; two sisters,                                                 Deana Gardner and husband, Al,  Moran, Janice Brown and husband, Bob, Olathe; two grandsons, Takota and Ty Esfeld,  Great Bend; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and one brother, Harold Leon Tomlinson.
• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. John Lutheran Church,  in Meade. 
Burial will follow in the Appleton Township Cemetery, rural Minneola.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
Memorials are suggested to the Minneola District Hospital or St. John Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
