Mosie L. Portis, 84, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at the Life Care Unit of Edwards County Hospital in Kinsley.
She was born April 9, 1929, to Melvin and Delia ( Dean ) Paul in Watson, Ark.
She married Guy N. Portis July 9, 1982, in Chicago. He died July 13, 2008.
She was an assembler at the Zenith Electronics Corporation from 1948-1982 in Chicago. She worked in the Central Supply Dept. at Southwest Medical Center until her retirement in 1991.
She attended Bible Way Church of God In Christ.
She enjoyed ushering within the church and traveling.
She is survived by four nephews, Tommy Johnson and wife, Mary, Kansas City, Kan., Robert Johnson and wife, Earnestine, Arkadelphia, Ark., Elroy Hollingsworth and wife, Loretta, Chicago, and Billy Jackson, Chicago; three nieces, Billie Jean Allen, Chicago, Dorothy Gives, Chicago, and Ruthie Mae Taylor, Chicago; one sister-in-law, Edna Jones, Chicago; and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.
• Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Miller Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Steven Bailem and Superintendent Lawrence Johnson presiding.
