Velda I. Blinn, 94, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at Liberal Springs.
She was born Nov. 2, 1915, to Edward and Merna (Piehler) Oyler in Medicine Lodge.
She married Lloyd Smith May 11, 1933. He died May 1, 1966.
She married Edgar C. Blinn Aug. 24, 1968 in Liberal. He died March 22, 1989.
She was a homemaker and had worked as a clerk at Levines Department Store.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mc Arthur Sunday School Class, First National Bank Prestige Club and the Liberal Senior Center.
She enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include sons, Alan Smith and wife, Annette, Liberal, and Rod Smith and companion, Shirley Hoskinson, Loveland, Colo.; stepson, Harvey and wife, Wynsu Blinn, Hurst, Texas; stepdaughters, Marilyn Krauter and husband, Ken, Ellsworth,Carolyn Harper and husband, Bud, Glendale, Ariz., and Olivia McDaniel, Wichita, one brother, Ronald Lee Oyler, Indio, Calif.; four grandchildren, Greg Kapp and wife, Donna, Melody Brown and husband, Bob, Jeremy Smith and Susanne McHenry and husband, Ty; 13 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Dale Kapp, Aurora, Colo.; sister-in-law, Fern Oyler, Liberal; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Gail Kapp, stepdaughters, Sherlyn Boen and Evelyn Chadwick, and brothers, Lloyd and Donald Oyler.
o Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Bagwell presiding.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
