The Hooker Bulldogs recieved some bad news this week when San Jacinto in Amarillo, Texas called to cancel their game scheduled for September 20th.

“We had a signed contract, but basically they scheduled two games on the same day,” Hooker athletic director Brian Stalder said.

The scheduling error appears to be a victim of the OSSAA moving the start of the football season back one week, starting this season.

The game was also scheduled to be the Bulldogs first home game and their homecoming.

“We talked with Taos, New Mexico, but they want us to come there,” Stalder said. “We also spoke with Springfield, Missouri, but they decided it was just too far.”

Hooker only had four home games to start the season, now they are down to three.

Rival Turpin is open that week, but the two meet in district play the following week.
