The Southwestern Heights Mustangs ran right over the Sublette Larks defensive line Friday night, en route to a 41-13 win in the Mustangs home opener.

Running back Efrain Chavez led the way for the Mustangs, carrying the ball 22 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns.

Quarterback Emilio Bernabe was 2-of-5 passing for 66 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Bernabe also had five carries for 27 yards and a touchdown.

Three plays later Chavez broke lose on a 27-yard run for his second touchdown of the game, and Heights extened the lead to 34-0.

The Larks would eventually find their way into the endzone in the fourth quarter when their quarterback ran it in from ten yards out to make it 34-6.
