The Western Kansas Chapter of the American Red Cross is pleased to announce that the branch office in Liberal will continue operating, but on reduced hours – thanks to volunteer Shelia Limbocker who will be working part time in the office.
“Sheila will continue providing the leadership necessary to help people prevent, prepare for and respond to disasters,” said Western Kansas Executive Director Carolyn Henry in a press release. “The communities we serve are important to us. The support and generosity of the Liberal area is vital to us in Western Kansas in providing our mission.
“We would like to thank Sherry Helmke for all of her dedication and leadership in helping make many in Western Kansas safer and helping those in times of disaster,” Henry continued. “She will be missed.
“We will be hosting a thank you come and go reception for Sherry and Henry (longtime volunteer and supporter) Helmke, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 6, with a come and go reception with location to be announced.
“We know that many in the community will want to thank them both and wish them well on their new journey,” she added.
