By McDermott Booster Club

At the beginning of this school year, we were able to accomplish one of our goals from last year. We got to improve our soccer field. With the help of our students, parents, teachers, and our very generous community, we were able to install turf, for the kids to play.

By reaching that goal, we were also able to meet our Booster Club purpose of promoting pride in our school. It has been such a great improvement to our school and to our neighborhood. It is nice to drive after school and see kids using and enjoying the soccer field.

We are getting ready to have our annual watermelon social on Thursday, where parents will be able to spend some time together with their kids and meet other parents.

We are very thankful to have such a supportive and dedicated team at McDermott. We wouldn’t be able to accomplish our goals without Mrs. Fitzgerald, our teachers, our staff, and our great parent volunteers.

We look forward to continue to accomplish our mission statement of helping to make McDermott Elementary School a wonderful place to nurture lifelong learners.
