Topeka – The Kansas State Rifle Association today announced that it has endorsed Pat Roberts for U.S. Senate in 2014.
“When the Second Amendment is challenged, Pat Roberts stands at the forefront to support the right of every Kansan to bear arms,” Kansas State Rifle Association (KSRA) President Patricia Stoneking said. “Kansas has been fortunate to have such a strong and dedicated supporter of the Second Amendment, with a steadfast record in defense of gun rights.”
The KSRA has thousands of members across the state and is represented in every county. “I know a majority of our members will go to work for Pat’s campaign whether it’s walking local precincts, making calls, putting up yard signs or getting people to the polls,” Stoneking added. “We will send a strong message that we want Pat Roberts fighting for us in the U.S. Senate.”
Of the endorsement, Senator Roberts said, “I want to thank KSRA for being out front so early in this campaign season. Their trust in me is greatly appreciated. The Second Amendment is at the core of this country’s foundation, and I will fight for it and all of our constitutional rights.”
Already Roberts for Senate has announced endorsements from major Republican leaders across the state including: Senator Bob Dole, Governor Sam Brownback, Senator Jerry Moran, First District Congressman Tim Huelskamp, Second District Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins, Third District Congressman Kevin Yoder, Fourth District Congressman Mike Pompeo, Lieutenant Governor Jeff Colyer, Secretary of State Kris Kobach, Attorney General Derek Schmidt and State Treasurer Ron Estes.
