The Lady Redskins tennis team took part in the Dodge City Invitational Thursday afternoon.

Freshman Tierra Stoney went 2-2 in No. 2 singles play, at one point playing for first or second place, and eventually finishing fourth.

Stoney started 2-0 with wins over Dodge City Red and Meade before dropping her final two matches against Hays and Garden City.

In the No. 1 singles pool Stephanie Sanchez finished the day at 1-3, good enough for a seventh place finish.

The No. 1 doubles team of Marina Arenivas and Kathy Hernandez went 1-3, taking seventh place.

Kylie Evans and Marissa Rodriguez went 0-4 in No. 2 doubles play, resulting in an eighth place finish.

Other teams competing were Dodge City Red, Garden City, Great Bend, Hays, Meade, Cimarron and Dodge City Blue.

Liberal will next play in the Scott City Invite at 3 p.m. Monday.
