Eldon W. Brown, 83, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Wesley Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 18, 1930, toHomer and Maria (Tuman) Brown in Liberal.
He married Jean Casady in 1968 in Las Vegas. She died Aug. 18, 1996.
He attended Liberal schools and later joined the Navy in 1947, serving in the Philippines as a Tel-A-Type until 1948 at Sangley Point Naval Base. In 1949 through 1950, he was stationed in Tacoma Wash. He was called back to serve during the Korea conflict from 1952 to 1954 and was on the USS Consolation as a radio operator where he performed Morse code. He was a design engineer for Beech Aircraft retiring in 1992 after 42 years.
Survivors include one step son, Richard Casady and wife, Erlinda, W. Toluca Lake, Calif.; two step daughters, Pamula Lehner and husband, Howard, Haven, and Debra Rickard and husband, Jeff, Denver; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
• Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Liberal City Cemetery with Pastor Jack Jacob presiding.
There will be no public visitation.
