ELKHART – Gordon B. Burton, 81, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.
He was born Oct. 9, 1931, TO Walter Reed and Anna Lois (Ford) Burton in rural Felt, Okla.
He married Yvonne Webb Oct. 20, 1963, at the James Church of God near Texhoma, Okla. She survives.
He graduated from Felt High School.
He was a fieldman for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline for 29 years and a farmer.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and usher for several years.
Other survivors include his daughters, Jana Buhr and husband, Bob, Ulysses, Julie Buck and husband, Darren, South Elkhart, and Jill Deatherage and husband, Ryan, Kingfisher, Okla.; brother, Wendell Burton and wife, Opal, Boise City, Okla.; sisters, Wathena Watt, Amarillo, Texas, Helen Miller and husband, Jack, Buffalo, Okla., Anna Carol and husband, Buckey, Walters, Greeley, Colo., Christine Schoenhals and husband, Eugene, Panhandle, Texas, and Gladys Schneider and husband, Dennis, Cimarron, N.M.; six grandchildren, Sydney, Ethan and Karah Buck and Andrew, Aubrey and Amy Deatherage; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Troy Burton, Doyle Burton and Dallas Burton; and sisters, Doris Thornton and Mary Alice Durman.
o Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Elkhart, with Pastor Ed Richards and Brother John Henley presiding.
Burial will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
