• L&T staff report

Three local 4-H trap shooters attended the 21st Annual Kinsley Kids Klassic Saturday at the Dodge City Gun Club and Kinsley Gun Club.

The youth, Evan Bayouth, Sarah Bayouth and Ethan Frerichs, are members of the Seward County Sharp Shooters trap team that’s enrolled in the free Seward County 4-H Shooting Sports spin club.

This is the first year of trap shooting for these shooters, but they did well considering more than 150 youth competed in the match.

Sarah placed first in the 14- and 15-year-old ladies division, receiving a cap, a medal and a $50 Cabela’s gift card.

Ethan received a $50 Cabela’s gift card in the Lewis Class, scoring 75 out of 100 targets

In the team competition – consisting of Sarah, Evan and Ethan and along with Luke Massey and Jacob Apsley of Satanta – they placed fourth overall in the team division match.

Also placing second in the Coach’s Challenge was Seward County 4-H Shooting Sports instructor Greg Standard.

The Seward County Sharp Shooters would like to thank the Liberal Gun Club for sponsoring the 4-H shooters at this event.
