Obituary

Richard (Hard Rock) Davis, 79, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Liberal Good Samaritan Center.
He was born June 19, 1934, the son of Clarence and Irene (Heilman) Davis, at Newton.
He married Bonnie Hubbard June 9, 1952, at Potwin. She preceded him in death.
He was a graduate of Potwin High School.
He was a superintendent for Jayhawk Pipeline for more than 20 years before retiring in 1996.
He enjoyed coaching baseball and was a coach for the Legion Elks Team and the Little League in Elkhart.
He was a member of Liberal Elks Lodge.
His survivors include one son, Charles Davis and wife, Donetta, Liberal; daughter, Ann Davis, Houston, Texas; brother, Charles Conrad Davis, Jay, Okla.; two granddaughters, Nikki Whitaker, Liberal, Erica Davis, Denver, Colo.; and five greatgrandsons.
• Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Miller Mortuary Chapel.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Miller Mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to Cal Ripkin Baseball in care of Miller Mortuary.
